Your chance to vote
To complete the 2012 Jack Petchey Award Scheme, we will make two more awards this year. For the October prize we have two nominations:
Bryony Ross
Since joining the Club four years ago as a U13 athlete, Bryony has been an active and ever reliable competitor for the track & field and sportshall teams. Specialising in sprints, she has also supported the team on many occasions by filling in various jumps and throws events. Much appreciated by our young athletes, she has recently started to give extra long jump coaching sessions to the Kestrel athletes after their normal training sessions.
Mikael Undrom
Mikael has been one of our most successful senior athletes on national and international level. Over the past years he has won numerous medals at competitions around the world, including the Down Syndrome Athletics World Championships in Mexico 2010, Azores 2012 and Down Syndrome Athletics European Championships Sardinia 2011. Moreover, his achievements are not limited to athletics, but extend to Golf, skiing and football. Mikael’s engagement and success in sports last year resulted in an invitation of the Speaker to talk to Parliament on how sport has influenced his life.
Please send me your votes by Monday 29 October. As always, I am also looking for ideas (particularly from our young athletes!) how to make use of the award money (£200 per award) for the benefit of our young members.
Kind regards,
Frank
